Avelox (moxifloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone (flor-o-KWIN-o-lone) antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. Avelox is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the skin, sinuses, lungs, or stomach. It is used to treat community acquired pneumonia, plague, bacterial sinusitis, and chronic bronchitis with bacterial infection.

Exposure to sunlight, even for brief periods of time, may cause severe sunburn, or skin rash, redness, itching, or discoloration. When you begin using this medicine: Stay out of direct sunlight, especially between the hours of 10 AM and 3 PM, if possible. Wear protective clothing, including a hat and sunglasses. consult your physician or pharmacist before taking this medication
