Sleep medicine including sleep apnea and CPAP therapy, diagnostic sleep studies, severe airways disease (asthma/COPD), ABPA, lung nodules and cancers, interventional pulmonology (bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), pleural aspiration and drainage, talc pleurodesis, PFT (spirometry, DLCO).
Introduction
Dr. Sarwar Chaudhry graduated from King Edward Medical College in 2005. He went to Australia to undertake further training. He worked across many tertiary care reputable institutions in Australia and was awarded fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physician (FRACP) in 2016 in General Medicine followed by dual fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine.
He worked as consultant pulmonologist and General Physician in John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, Australia. He has also worked in private specialist clinic along with private hospitals during his stay in Australia.
For his ongoing professional commitment and leadership roles, he was awarded Fellowship of American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) in 2021.
He has held leadership roles in Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) from 2015-2018.
He enjoys membership of TSANZ, CHEST (USA), European Respiratory Society (ERS), Pulmonary Hypertension Society of Australia and New Zealand (PHSANZ), Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (IMSANZ), and World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP). He has presented his research in Australian and international conferences.
His interests include airway diseases (asthma, COPD), bronchiectasis, lung cancers/nodules, bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, pleural diseases, breathing related sleep disorders including sleep apnoea and respiratory failure, chest infections and other sleep disorders. His expertise also includes execution and interpretations of complex pulmonary function tests.
He endeavours to provide international level evidence-based care to patients in Pakistan.
