Interventional Cardiology, Structural Heart disease especially percutaneous Mitral valve repair using Mitrclip
Introduction
Dr. Farqad did his schooling at St Anthony\s high school and Aitchison college Lahore. He was given the Col Abid Hussain Gold medal for standing first in Aitchison College Lahore. Dr. Farqad qualified as a medical doctor from King Edward Medical College Lahore and then did his initial cardiology training at Mayo Hospital Lahore. He then proceeded to the UK and obtained MRCP and then did advanced training in all fields of cardiology in the Royal London hospital and the London chest hospital in London. He was appointed as a consultant interventional cardiologist in Hull and East Yorkshire NHS trust and subsequently became the clinical director of cardiac and neurosciences in the same trust. He was also given additional responsibilities of Cardiac and Stroke network director of the Yorkshire region. Dr. Farqad did the first Mitraclip and Tricuspid clip procedure in the UK and then became a clinical proctor for Mitraclip in the UK, Europe, Far East, Middle East, and New Zealand. He was also the first Chairman of King Faisal Cardiac Center in National Guard hospital in Jeddah and has been awarded Sitara-e-Pakistan, MBE (Queens birthday honors list for services to Cardiology and Medicine in the UK).
