Dr Ammar Anwer passed his MBBS with distinction in physiology and opted Neurosurgery. He completed his Neurosurgical training from Neurosurgery department of a renown hospital in Lahore. During his training, his area of focus was endoscopic brain and spine surgery. He completed his fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery from Advanced Neuromodulation and Functional Neurosurgery center. During his fellowship, he was part of the team that pioneered spinal cord stimulation in Pakistan, pioneered Deep Brain Stimulation in private sector. He is currently serving as Head of Neurosurgery in University of Lahore.
