Introduction

PROFESSOR DR. SYED KHURRAM SHAHZAD has been a consultant of Cardiology and Medicine for more than 3 decades. He has more than 30 Years of experience of working in different hospitals of Pakistan Army in Disciplines of Medicines and Cardiology. His work included Cardiac interventions, Coronary Angioplasties, Primary Coronary Angioplasties, Coronary Angiographies, Echocardiography, busy outdoor patient consultations, ward rounds, teaching and management of Cardiac Coronary Care unit wards. He has been actively involved in undergraduates and postgraduates teaching and training of junior doctors and residents. He has served overseas also as member of UN peace keeping mission in Western Sahara and as Medical Specialist in Saudi Arabia. He is a Professor of Cardiology and has numerous publications to his credit. He retired as Major General from Army Medical Corps after serving for almost 40 years in uniform. He has the unique honor of leading and commanding two premier cardiac hospitals of country namely Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology, Rawalpindi and Army Cardiac Hospital, Lahore. He has a keen interest in teaching and has been Supervisor, Examiner and Paper Setter in Cardiology in College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan. He has trained many cardiology fellows of FCPS Cardiology who have completed their training successfully and are serving the community as specialists. He has a desire and ambition to serve people and country to the best of abilities.
